founded Equitable Workplaces

Amel is a Stanford graduate with a background in public policy and management consulting.

Amel founded Equitable Workplaces, a diversity consulting startup focused on redesigning workspaces to address childcare needs for working moms, to help plug the leaky pipeline of women to leadership roles. Previously, she was a consultant focused on advising clients in civil infrastructure space ( airports, seaports, energy utilities etc.) on how to adapt to breakthrough technologies like Drones, Smart Grid, Self Driving Vehicles etc. Before that, she was at the Bay Area Council leading policy work on early childhood education and worked on the Oakland launch of Hillary Clinton's early childhood education campaign.
Amel actively advocates for childcare supports for employees that are parents. Amel’s writings on diversity have triggered significant grassroots and exec level conversations at major tech companies creating momentum around the need to address childcare as part of the diversity discussion.
